CRACK FOR POKEMON STADIUM
RedboX has created a couple of Pokemon Stadium cracks, one for the European (PAL) version and one for the American (NTSC) version.

NINTENDO SUEING YAHOO!
Nintendo, and Electronic Arts, has filed a lawsuit against Yahoo for letting people auction off counterfeit goods on Yahoo Auctions, and Yahoo making a profit from this. Nintendo has told Yahoo serveral times to do something about the problem, but Yahoo has refused.

THE WORLD WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH GOING N64
EA has confirmed The World is Not Enough for N64, which I suppose is great news for fans of the Goldeneye game. The game has already been confirmed for PlayStation, PlayStation 2 and PC for release later this year along with the N64 version, which should be out around September.

The developer is Eurocom and you should expect over 40 weapons and gadgets, Expansion Pak support and at least ten arenas and levels based on locales from the movie, where some will be unique for the N64 version.

There are no games included with the emulator, but you're getting a "rom inserter" tool similar to the one included with the second release of Jos Kwanten's UltraMSX2 emulator, which means you have to calculate the checksum of the emulator binary after applying a rom.

There's currently only 1 game included with the emulator, Konami's Salamander from 1987. The emulator actually runs at a quite decent speed, though not full fps.

ROM RENAMER V3.1 OUT
Here's whats new in this version:

• Added new signatures to ROMS.DAT -> higher recognition rate
• Zero-Byte-File-Bug in batchmode fixed ;-)
• Improved the batchmode:
  • Duplicates now will be moved in a subdir called Duplicates (no more errormessages about duplicates !)
  • Unknown ROMs will be moved in a subdir called Unknown_ROMs. If there are unknown ROMs, a file called UNKNOWN.LOG is created that contains all the necessary information to add this ROM to the next release. Please send this file to me (webmaster@emunews.de) if you got unknown ROMs !
• Gamelistfeature: In batchmode you have the choice to let the ROM Renamer generate a detailed list of your games in HTML-format
• Layout improved so the GUI is also in 800*600 mode full visible
• New About-Dialog
• Windowhandling bugfixed (in the last version the about- and the editorwindow could be "swallowed" by the main window)

SHOULD N64 SCENER GET A GAMEBOY SECTION?
I know www.subport.org already exists and does the job quite well, but Ego_UK told me that subport (He) doesnt care about "Gameboy Classic" (the old black/white) titles eventhough there are some pretty interesting releases now and then, like the recent 11 Sachen releases as well as whats being dumped over at the GB redump site (run by a german dude). Well let me know what you think about the idea of bringing a GB section to N64 Scener.

ROM RENAMER V3.0 OUT
Here's whats new in this version:

• Clayfighter 63 1/3 caused an error becuase in the Jolietfilesystem it's not allowed to use / in the filenames - fixed
• Toukon Road-Entries corrected - before Toukon Road was recognized as Tukon Road 2
• Rally '99-Entries corrected - before Rally '99 was recognized as V-Rally '99
• CRC1-Method improved to additional 59 games, hacks and revisions, now total 104
• Countrycodes added: S = Spain (PAL), A = USA or Japan (NTSC)
• Wordswapped ROMs are now recognized (Flipromformat)
• CRC2 is displayed

• Exit bug fixed (sometimes the program has remained in memory)

The new site isnt fully launched yet though, you just get a message "New products and services available soon, please bookmark". I dont know which new products they're about to release, besides a copier for the NeoGeo Pocket, I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

NO MORE NINTENDO COPIERS FROM BUNG AND MR. FLASH
Mr. Flash closed down their sale of Bungs N64 and Gameboy copiers today, but if you still want either a V64jr512mbit, a GB Xchanger or an extra cartridge for your Xchanger I suggest you, as fast as possible, find a reseller to get it from while they're still in stock.

EXPECT A NEW N64 NES EMULATOR SOON?
Remember the old vNES64 emulator released for POM98? Well a new version of the emulator has been under way for a very long time, and has even changed name a few times. The emulator is now called DarcNES, or DarcNES64 if you like, and is based on the multi-console emulator for DOS, however the N64 version will only include the NES part, while the emulator for DOS does PcEngine, NES and SMS. But right now the project doesnt seem to launch anytime soon, since the speed of the emulator hasnt really changed since the vNES64 days.

To give you an idea of how slow (sorry JL, but you know this yourself, heh) the emulator is, here's a small video, in ASF format, showing an early beta of DarcNES64 running Namco's NES version of PACMAN a 40kbyte rom. Sorry about the low quality of the video, but I felt no need for a 2meg of something this slow :)

FINAL CALL
If you havent bought a V64jr512mb yet, well then you better hurry up. Bung has already closed down the sale of any Nintendo Backup unit and Mr. Flash (Bungs sister company) will stop selling the Nintendo copiers on the 13th. Any they're stopping the sales I really have no idea of. They did loose a lawsuit in the US which prevents them from selling anymore Nintendo copiers there, but I seriously doubt that the US marketshare was so high that they now can't afford the production costs of the copiers. Or maybe Bung is affraid of more lawsuits, who knows.

The Noisy Boyz Crew has made another demo, this time with some nice pics of Nintendo characters, most pics are promotion pictures from Mario Kart 64. Along with the pics is a hard pumping tune which sounds like it could've been made by ZZ TOP, ah well. Download the demo here.
