The Making of the L64


First I had to move the cartridge slot from the original spot where it used to stick straight up. Then, I used about 60 small wires to connect the slot to its original contacts.


One of the biggest hurdles is getting the N64 to run off batteries. It uses 3.3v and 7.2-35v, the latter going to a 7805 regulator. The little circuit board pictured above is a switching regulator that takes the battery voltage and drops it to 3.3v for the N64.
