Most 128mbits Ram Card and Doctor V64 that are shipped out starting on 6th Jan 99 uses a new design of 128mbits Ram Card that requires BIOS 2.01 to run a FULL DRAM TEST. FULL DRAM TEST program is still compatible to old design of 128mbits Ram Card. New design of 128mbits Ram Card will work with BIOS prior to version 2.01 except for FULL DRAM TEST.

1. Bug fix for BIOS 1.92. Please do not use BIOS 1.92 and upgrade it with BIOS 1.93.

2. Fix display file size for files that are bigger than 256mbits (32MB). This BIOS version will read file size up to 5200mbits (650MB).

3. Supports more brands of CD-ROM drives. Improved read disc commands and procedures, most CD-ROM drive are compatible with this BIOS version.

New features for Doctor V64 BIOS 1.92:

Doctor V64 Bios 1.91 new functions:

1. New extensions recognition support for both CD and PC download. BIOS 1.90 only support recognition from files loaded from CD-ROM. Files with the following extension GB, NES, SFC, GG, MG, PCE, NEO, MP3 and EMU will automatically be loaded into the V64's DRAM starting from after the first 2Mbytes, starting address will be 0x200000. This is to enable emulators to be loaded into the first 2Mbytes. ROM files with the above extension when loaded will automatically be swapped in V64's DRAM to Doctor V64 format, as emulator's rom files are usually Non-Doctor V64 format. Procesure for loading emulator and rom. a. Load the emulator for N64 b. Load a rom with one of the registered extension, rom file will automatically loaded into the address 0x2000000 and swapped to Doctor V64 format. c. Turn on the N64 to play game. d. To play a new rom, turn off the N64 and repeat step b and c.

2. If emulator do not read roms at address 0x200000, a marker can be added to make the BIOS read any multiple of 16k byte address outside the 0x104000 (max.0x500000). The address to be modified is at 0x00002e, the mark is 'V64+A*' (V64 swapbyte mode, for N64 byte order mode is '6V+4*A'), '*' is a byte from 0x00 to 0xff for offset of times of 16k byte add to address 0x104000.

3. If there is a 512 bytes header in the data file, then the starting address will be -0x200.

Features of Doctor V64 Bios V1.90 :

1. Segment alternation mode: If there is 256mbits in DRAM, DRAM will be seperated into 4 64mbits sections and program alternation mode can be on by pressing the ">>" button. The segment alternation mode allows two different programs to be loaded into the V64 DRAM and N64 will run both programs. When segment alternation is set to on, N64 will run the program in the 4th 64mbits first for a few seconds (1 to 3 seconds, user select) followed by the program in the 1st 64mbits (second program can be up to 192Mbits, programs bigger than 192mbits will not work). Routines released by thiry party like Game Shark function, Boot Crack programs (similar to boot.bin)...can be loaded into the 4th 64mbit DRAM and followed by a ROM file starting in the 1st 64mbit. When the segment alternation mode is set to "off " by pressing the ">>" button, N64 will directly read the program starting in 1st 64mbits (max. 256Mbits) as before (default is set to off).

2. Switch screen mode: Between N64 and V64 to allow access of V64's cd-rom while N64 is running. Switch between Enable and Disable N64 mode by pressing the "Stop" button, when Disable N64 mode is set on, the V64's screen will always be on even when N64 is switched on. When N64 is running, switch to V64's screen display by pressing "Stop" button. New data can be loaded from CD-ROM or PC into the V64's DRAM starting from the 1st 64mbits, while the N64 is running, press "Stop" button again to go back to N64 screen. e.g. A N64 MP3 player can be loaded and run on the N64, switch to the V64 screen by pressing the "Stop" button, then load an MP3 file into the V64's DRAM, press the "Stop" button again to go back to the N64 screen and use the MP3 program to access the newly loaded MP3 file. Read function 3 for other usage. Another usage is while playing a N64 cartridge game while the N64 is attached to the V64, switch to the V64's screen to play a Music CD or VCD then switch back to N64 screen. Now the N64 cartridge game will be running and so will the sound of the Music CD or VCD. Will it be a cool combo or a misery combo? It will depends on your own selection of CD!

3. Recognizes 9 new extensions: GB, NES, SFC, GG, MD, PCE, NEO, MP3 and EMU Files that have the above extension will automatically be loaded into the V64's DRAM starting from after the first 2Mbytes, starting address will be (200000H). This is to enable emulators to be loaded into the first 2Mbytes. e.g. Load the emulator for N64 then load the rom with the respective extension. The "Disable N64" mode will be useful with the emulators. Run the emulator with the N64, switch to the V64 screen then load new roms, go back to the N64 and run the emulator again with the new rom.

4. Auto-Detect and Auto-Byte Flipping: Auto detects non Doctor V64 byte order rom image and will auto flip while loading.

5. Display "file sizes" for all type of files. (Only ROMs files sizes are displayed in previous version)

6. Display territory for N64 ROM files, PAL (Europe 50H), Germany (44H), Australia (55H), Japan (4AH), USA (45H)
