UFO BEATS ALL COMPETITION |
LikSang lowered their prices a few days ago, now UFO does the same. This means they now have the best offer for a
Flash Linker and 128mbit cartridge, selling for only US$118, or how about a 128mbit cartridge for only US$97, or even
the new small 64mbit cartridge (said to be the best cart of the lot) for nothing mroe than US$67. And who said
competition is bad? :)
Visit UFO's (Success Company) online store here.
On a side note. UFO is working on a cheat device for the Gameboy Advance, similar to the GameShark/Action Replay. The
device will be released by Blaze in a couple of months.
Then maybe you should visit http://www.retrocovers.com. This site
has nice looking covers for all sorts of gaming systems, including the Gameboy Advance!.

October, we'll ofcourse have more information once it's available ;)
Thanks to Rowan and myself, I am able to update the boxart section a little bit, click here to check it out.

COMPILE RELEASES GBA GAME DEMO |
Compile has announced another Gameboy Advance game for release in Japan (Asia). It's another puzzler called Gurulogi Champ,
they've already announced Minna de Puyo Puyo. The player has to reproduce an image shown on the left side of the screen
(see image below) by shooting or sucking blocks from the players field. Compile has made the first 10 levels, of 300,
from the GBA game available for download on their site.
The page is Japanese, so to make it a bit easier for you, I have downloaded the game and you can download it here.
Please note that this is not a GBA rom for play on your Gameboy Advance, this is a Windows program, which by the way needs
DirectX 8, so if you don't have it, then get it :)

has a bright future, I know for sure this Tetris game will be played a lot by me over the next weeks if
not months, and who knows maybe it's better than THQ's upcomming commercial release, Tetris World :)
Please note that I have only tested this game on the hardware and no emulators, and it works great on the real thing.

NINTENDOS ANSWER ABOUT GBA SCREEN |
Nintendo of Europe has posted a small answer to the many negative responses about the GBA screen, which isn't backlit and
indeed very dark to look at. Well here's what Nintendo posted on gameboy.com
Keeping their ear to the ground, Nintendo have heard many of you muttering ‘Why does the GBA not have a back-light? and
through the GBA website, they aim to answer why. During development, Nintendo did take a back-light for the GBA into
consideration. However, if this feature had been incorporated into the system’s overall design, it would have required
far more power and subsequently more batteries resulting in a vastly different machine. In short, your GBA would be much
more expensive to you – and also you’d be spending loads more money on new batteries all the time. So there you go – you
heard it here first.
To me that is the most lame aswer Nintendo has ever made to anything. Seriously they must've had the backlit in
consideration, else they couldn't determine that it would lower the battery life and even make the GBA more expensive,
eventhough that's common sense.
I honestly don't care, along with a lot of other people, if the GBA ran 10 hours instead of 20 hours on a pair of AA
batteries, plus why not just make the backlit an option for people to use or not, I honestly think people could handle
another switch on the GBA. Sure it would use a lot more battery using the backlit option, but as you can get rechargable
battery at a good price today, I can't really see the problem.
Nintendo of Japan (NCL) does acknowledge the problem and has contacted Panasonic about producing some of the GBA screens,
but still no backlit version, one can only hope that someone invents a kit which enables anyone with just a bit of
electronic/soldering experience to install some sort of backlit option themselves.
Anyway the answer Nintendo gave just didn't do it, just another load of erm... bulls**t from Nintendo of Europe.

If you haven't checked out IGN lately, you wouldn't know that they have posted news, from the japanese Famitsu magazine, about
the GBA titles being shown at Nintendo's Spaceworld 2001 show in Tokyo.
The most interesting title, to me atleast, is the next Mario game called nothing less than Super Mario Advance 2 and
features no other than the best Mario game ever created, the SNES Super Mario World(!!).
Here's a list of what will be on the show (check ign for screenshots).
