Instructions for using Doctor GB Xchanger with PC:
1. Make sure the GB Xchanger is turned off, connect it to a power
source, DC power supply or battery(DC power supply and batteries are not included in
package).
2. Attached a 25 pins straight through printer cable from PC to GB
Xchanger.
3. Insert a Doctor GB Card to Doctor GB Xchanger, make sure it is
firmly inserted and turn on the Doctor GB Xchanger.
4. Turn on the Doctor GB Xchanger and run the 'GBTxx.exe' DOS program,
to send a ROM file from PC to Doctor GB Card, type 'GBTxx <ROM filename>'.
'GBTxx.exe' program maybe in the same directory as the ROM file. Please use 'GBT15.exe'
and 'gbpack.v13' or later version for 64M GB Card.
5. Turn off GB Xchanger and remove the GB Card from GB Xchanger.
6. To load a new ROM file into GB Card, repeat step 3.
?Doctor GB Xchanger requires DC power supply or
batteries to work. The requirements are as follows:
1. DC power supply - GB Xchanger requires a 7V-12V, 150ma
or above DC power supply. Center point polarity of power supply plug to the GB Xchanger is
negative (-).
2. Battery - Doctor GB Xchanger operates on six
standard 1.5V AAA size batteries. Batteries are not used when connected to a DC power
supply.
3. Please set computer parallel/printer port to EPP
mode when you're using GBT13.exe or early version but GBT14 or later version can allow you
set printer port to EPP/SPP/ECP,.. mode( EPP is the fastest one). Consult your computer
manufacturer or dealer for information on switching the parallel/printer port to different
mode.
4. Use a 25 pins 'straight through' printer extension
cable or a 25 pins straight through data switch cable and do not use 'Laplink' cable as it
is not compatible to the hardware. Make sure that both ends of the cable are male.
Recommended cable length is 6ft, cable up to 20ft is supported but not recommended.
'Gbpack.vxx' is menu programs for supporting multiple
ROMs in one GB Card. Without these programs, GB Card will not support multiple ROMs. To
pack multiple ROMs, combine multiple ROM files into one file and make sure that
'gbpack.vxx' must be the first file.
e.g to pack a multiple ROM file for GB Card (4M), type
'copy /b gbpack.vxx + rom1.gb + rom2.gb + rom3.gb <packed filename>' in DOS.
Then use 'GBTxx.exe' to transfer the '<packed filename>' file to GB Card. Rom1.gb,
Rom2.gb, etc are ROM filenames for GameboyTM format ROMs, there is no specific type of filename for it to work.
