RECRUIT made pre-IPO investment in the company named Monex, Inc., one of the largest and fastest-growing online brokers in Japan. Monex customers can trade Japanese stocks and invest in investment trusts on the Internet or by phone. Sony Corporation and Oki Matsumoto, the president and CEO of Monex, formerly a general partner of Goldman Sachs, established the company in April 1999. The company plans to start underwriting IPO's soon.
