Overclocking your Playstation
BEFORE YOU BEGIN THIS MOD, be aware that this is a risky procedure. Some Playstations like it, some don't! You are better off if you mod one manufactured in 1999 or later! Neither I (Robert Ivy) or UCM are responsible for any damages! I am providing the information, you do what you want with it. All of this info is C.2004.Robert Ivy. You may use this info on your site, but give credit where credit is due!
How to perform the mod....
1. Disassemble your Playstation down to the motherboard. There should be a large shield over the IC chips, this will have to be removed. Just desolder the shield from the board.
2. Now that you are looking at the motherboard and the IC chips, locate the chip   with "CXD8606BQ" written on it. This is the CPU, the disguised R3000A.
3. Next, locate the clock chip. This is the chip that generates several signals for different processors: 67 MHz for the CPU & GPU, and 25 MHz for the sound. The 67 MHz signal gets divided by two along the way which creates the 33.8 MHz signal that the CPU runs at. WHat we are doing is wiring the clock pin on the CPU directly to the 67 MHz signal on the clock chip. This chip can be found to the top left of the CPU next to the memory card data plug.
4.Gently GENTLY lift pin 4 on the CPU from the board. You have to be very careful, as these pins will break easily.
5. Now run a wire from pin 4 to pin 6 on the clock chip.

Thats it! Fire up your new Playstation. One thing I did notice right off the bat was the decrease in loading time, and video playback was silky smooth.
