He's back! No more crappy cartoons, the videogame hero is back! and in 3D!!!. We all, hopefully
remember Earthworm Jim back from the SNES days where he was quite a hit, and then moved on
to the Gameboy and cartoons and became a flop.
Anyway, Rockstar has managed to create a game which doesnt get boring after a few
minutes and by the way isn't completely unplayable, unlike Carmageddon. The intro features
what a Earthworm Jim game HAS to have, a moo-moo-cow.
You start off in a world where you have to rescue a pair of underwear, which by the way is
of very good quality I'm told, while fighting meanie bazooka-missile-dudes. But the owner
of the underwear gets kidnapped while you hunt for his leet underwear, hmmm. So you set
off to rescue him. Along the way you'll have to beat up a giant Chicken, ah there's nothing
like beating up a chicken.
Well I dont wanna spoil all the fun, which will be kinda hard anyway. This game is one of
the better releases of this month, along with Rayman 2. It's a 3D platformer with lots of
nice yellow-ish colors and great drawn and an ok tune to listen to while you avoid giantic
handgrenates. But thats not all, the game is huge fun and you *will* laugh quite a lot while
playing, and have you always dreamt of beating a mouse-in-a-wheel (or whatever), then this is
just the game for you. The game sometime is straight forward, which does get a bit boring, but
along the way there are puzzles which have to be solved to continue, like what to do when you've
beaten the giant chicken off its pole.
There is a downpart though, the camera control is quite bad. It keeps rolling around Jim so that
you sometimes see him in front while walking. If you with to keep the camera behind Jim, you
have to press, and keep it pressed, button R, which I got quite annoyed by. Also, you cannot
see things from "Jim's eyes" like you can do in Mario, Tonic Trouble etc, shame shame shame.
But in all, this is a great game which I'm sure will keep me entertained for awhile, unlike
most of the other releases this month. Oh I almost forgot, this is the first videogame with
smell, go figure.....
