Well, this is just my opinion, but...

It seems less like a chart, and more like an "e-zine".

Usually, a chart is about the "state of the scene," and it is the comments about said scene that makes it interesting.  Fab's tries to review each game in one sentence, and I found it very hard to read.  Maybe the paragraphs were all too long?

Although Console World's wasn't the best, I did find it more interesting, as the formatting was better, and I cared about the comments more.

I really couldn't care less about the games themselves, I check out a "chart" to find out about the scene, and the circumstances surrounding the various releases, that's what intrigues me...

Quote:
CEZAR'S release of Super
Mario Advance which has a USA serial number, yet is claimed as the
European release in CEZAR's NFO file is deemed as a legit European release
by some and an alternate USA release by others.  It confuses me too, but
I'll go with what the serial number says (USA) and give credit as an
alternate release of the previously released USA version and give it 2
points.  As always, I'm up for debate.

FYI: This version of Mario is exactly the same as my cart, which is the US version...

Again, just my two cents...

I was going to start a thread about the console world chart and how laughable it was, but as you know Im too lazy...

Anyway, Fab's chart is infinatly better than the Console World chart, but still seems a little lacking, there are also some things in the chart that I disagree with, but thats down to personal preference.

I find it realy hard to be drawn into the GBA scene as it seems to be a free-for-all of lamers and emulator hangers on who all want to release something (how else can you explain the dupes and blantant hex editing that goes on...)  Thanks to all the idiots out there now you have to question the validity of every single release,  Theres nothing wrong with IND releases, but when your dealing with a big group you at least should know they have some integrarty, and in a well orginised scene there whould be someone documenting releases and checking up on thier validity..

FAB's chart seems to qualify for documenting the releases, but fails to question the validity of any of the releases taking their authenticity for granted...

Just a thought

I dunno.. my job is so boring lately that I've had to do something in my down time so I thought I'd do this.  I figured that there wouldn't be a 'scene' chart released for months for the GBA..

Regarding the validity of releases... as far as I can tell every release documented in the charts I released are valid.   Maybe I don't understand what RedboX is referring to...

Anyway, who knows if I'll do another.. maybe I will make it more of an E-Zine versus a charts.. both are equally worthless (worthwhile?).. heh.. anyway I'm pretty much a nobody with too much time (and money?) on his hands.  Criticism both positive and negative really have no effect on me either way... I'll just keep doing what I want to.
